The temple at Uluwatu, the most southwest tip of Bali is called Pura Luhur is one of the Bali's six directional ("Sad Kahyangan") temples, guarding the island from the evil spirits of the sea. It is also the one that offers the best view.The temple itself is perched on a steep limestone cliff 70m above the crashing waves. Built in the 11th century, it's one of the oldest and most important temples in Bali.
